CCP SHOP NORWICH PROJECT 2009

CCP SHOP NORWICH PROJECT 2009

23 Sep 2009

Norwich is a leading retail destination and Top 10 UK shopping destination. At the heart of the campaign is the flagship Norwich Visitor & Shopping Map - a partnership project between Norwich CCP, Norwich Attractions and Park & Ride

Shop Norwich enhances the visitor shopping experience, our dedicated ShopNorwich web pages give visitors and residents alike, information, ideas and inspiration to make the most of all the city has to offer. This includes the independent status of Norwich retail to be found within the charming winding alleys and cobbled streets of our fine medieval city where independent shops sit comfortably alongside high street stores and top name brands. Outside of London's Oxford Street, Norwich is the only place in the UK to have 4 national department stores - House of Fraser, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams as well as a local independent department store - Jarrold within its historic city centre.
VisitNorwich delivers the ShopNorwich campaign on behalf of Norwich City Centre Partnership to promote Norwich as a leading retail destination and to raise awareness of all it has to offer including its Top 10 status as a top UK shopping destination.

Norwich is the largest economy in the Eastern Region

"City Centre Management is critical in building successful city centres. Businesses recognise improving the quality of the public realm is synonymous with delivering a better, more popular and more profitable trading environment. Property owners know that a better trading environment enhances the status of town centres and the demand for property. Transport Providers find that more attractive, accessible town centres strengthen our most efficient transport hubs and increases demand for modern transport systems. In fact all stakeholders benefit from a buzzing city centre. City centre management is the key to getting joined up action."

MARTIN BLACKWELL, Development Director, Association of Town Centre Management
